It has been a miserable day. Not only is it the first day back to work after a somewhat glorious 4 days off, but I seem to have annoyed everyone I work closely with today. I seem to have been annoyed with everyone I work closely with today. The backdoor is irreparably broken. The lizard died. Killian managed to pull out his surgical drain despite wearing the ridiculous lampshade party hat 24 hours a day. My brother's roof is leaking. My father has pneumonia AGAIN. I am tired, grumpy and otherwise not fit for human interaction. Now that I've gotten THAT out of the way...

It rained today and the weather cooled off. It has been about 2 days since the last gigantic thunderstorm, so I'm not complaining about the rain. We had a decent dry break. The wind has been glorious, and other than destroying one of my birdfeeders (to the joy of the squirrels), not a bad thing.

The trees have been dropping blooms all over the yard this week - so that it appears to be snowing. I don't see anything up in the trees to signify where these mysterious blooms originate from, but I applaud their attempt at winter.

Hopefully everyone had a relaxing and enjoyable Memorial Day Holiday and gave thanks to our military troops and their families. For our freedom, all sacrifice some, some sacrifice all.

OK Jill - that's about as good as I can do today. I'm going to steam some basmati rice, find a good book, and sit somewhere to let the day drain away.
